    Head's Up!

    13 March 2020 (by headmarton)

    Weekly message from Mrs Deakin

Once again, many thanks for your patience and support regarding the Coronavirus outbreak. We had already provided our emergency details to CEC last week and in the earliest instance I will inform you via the school jotter should school be closed/trips/sporting events not go ahead etc.

If school is closed our contingency plans will come into force and all staff will be uploading information to the school app and website on their class pages with tasks and work the children can complete if they are able to, at home. Staff will has also send a list of websites that families can access and use. We will keep you regularly updated if school is closed.

It was a delight to welcome Footprints to school this week to meet parents and lots of little ones. Please don’t forget to join us on Wednesday 25th March @ 9.15am for their next visit. Footprints have also left brochures in the school office if you would like to collect a copy.

Year 2 had an incredible trip to Gladstone Pottery this week and we all enjoyed seeing what they had made. Massive thanks to Mrs Field for organising this trip and to Helen and Tom (our PGCE student) for accompanying year 2.

Please don’t forget to join us for our Friends and Family AGM at school on Tuesday 17th March @ 3.45pm A crèche is available till 5pm. ALL WELCOME!

Parents evening is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 1st April (2.30- 6.30pm) but we will not send the letters out until we are able to confirm school will be open then. Many thanks for your understanding.

Parents surgery will take place on Friday 27th March @ 9.15am and will be solely to discuss the proposed overseas residential trip. Dean and Mr Marks will also be joining us for this surgery and we look forward to discussing the proposed trip then. Many thanks to parents/carers who have already sent messages and questions into school.

We are lucky to have some PGCE students at school and know you will make them feel welcome as they begin their teaching placements at Marton.

Wishing you a safe and happy weekend, Nevin
