Cross Country season begins in Trulie great style!

    2 October 2019 (by Year5)

The Cross Country season has now begun for the Year 5/6 and the Year 3/4 teams. Over the past two weeks the children have competed in the Macclesfield races held at Fallibroome High School. On Wednesday 25th Septemebr it was the Year 5 and 6 boys and girls who braved cold, wet and windy conditions and put in a strong performance. Ellie continued where she left off last year and ran very strongly, finishing in 2nd place. The other girls ran brilliantly and achieved an overall place of 6th. The Year 5 and 6 boys all ran with gusto an determination and finished with an overall team position of 7th.
This afternoon, in opposing conditions the Year 3 and 4 children ran in glorious sunshine, although it was still very wet underfoot resulting in some runners losing trainers. The girls team put in a truly spectacular performance, Trulie finishing in 4th place and the team achieving an overall 2nd position. The Year 3 and 4 boys completed the first round of cross county fixtures with guts and determination and a strong sprint finish between Khy and Sam gave the boys an overall position of 7th.
A huge thank you to all the children who have competed over the last couple of weeks, for some it has been their first opportunity to represent the school. Also a big well done to those children who have taken up cross country this year and have gone on to compete for the school, its been hard work. Thanks must go to Charmaine for her continued dedication and commitment to the school Cross Country team.
Races will be coming thick and fast up until half term so look out for those letters.
    Thanks
    Mr Marks
