Dear Parents and Carers,

I am delighted to confirm our staffing arrangements for September 2026 and I am amazed at how quickly another school year has flown by!

I am pleased to share that there will be no changes to our teaching staff next year. Staff will remain within the following year groups:

• Mrs Owen – Early Years
• Mrs Sparey – Year 1
• Mr Marks – Year 2
• Miss Copestick – Year 3
• Mrs Wood (Deputy Head) – Year 4
• Mr Myers – Year 5
• Mrs Wilson (School SENCO) – Year 6

As part of our transition arrangements, we will once again hold our successful Move Up Mornings, helping children become familiar with their new teachers and classrooms ahead of September. These dates also align with Year 6 transition visits to Eaton Bank Academy and our new Reception Children coming to school.

Move Up Mornings will take place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June. Children should arrive at school as usual before moving to their new classrooms following a short assembly. They will spend the morning with their new teacher, including playtimes and lunch. Any Year 6 children not attending Eaton Bank Academy are welcome to attend school as normal.

I am also delighted to confirm that Mr Myers will remain with us while Mrs Jones is on maternity leave. Andrew has made a fantastic contribution to our staff team, and we are very fortunate to have him with us for longer.

This summer, we will say goodbye to Mrs Longmuir as Mrs McGuire returns from maternity leave. We are also saying farewell to Miss Rolfe, who has officially left following a period of ill health. We thank them both for their support and dedication to the school and wish them every success for the future.

In September, we will also be reorganising our Teaching Assistant team to further support children with additional needs. Some children will receive extra transition visits and personalised transition booklets to help prepare them for the new school year. Class teachers will contact relevant parents directly with further information.

ASM will continue to support our PE provision on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the next academic year, and they will also continue to offer after-school clubs on these days. Please note all children must wear PE kits and we have spare PE kits if children forget theirs.

Love Music Trust sessions will again be available for Year 5 children from September. Information will be shared with current Year 4 families before the end of term, along with confirmation of the session day.

Current Year 3 children will take part in swimming lessons during Year 4. School fully funds both the lessons and transport and further details will be shared in advance. Any children who are not yet confident swimmers after Year 4 will continue to receive swimming support, as we are committed to ensuring every child leaves primary school able to swim.

We are also pleased to continue our partnership with Marton Meadows, who generously fund golf lessons for selected children. We are extremely grateful for their support and look forward to continuing this opportunity in September. While we would love to offer this to every child, places are allocated to those we feel would benefit most from the experience.

Promoting excellent attendance will remain a priority next year. In line with Department for Education guidance, we will continue to work closely with families to support and challenge absence where necessary. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, holidays during term time will not be authorised.

Mrs Woodmass will continue to provide ELSA support sessions for children who need additional emotional support. In addition, every class will take part in an ELSA wellbeing session each half term. Mrs Woodmass is also available every Monday to support families who may need help following the weekend.

Our monthly Little Seeds mornings, held on the first Wednesday of each month, have been a great success and will continue next year. The first session will take place on Wednesday 7th October at 9.30am.

Mad House continues to provide excellent wraparound care for our children, and we are incredibly grateful to the team for their ongoing support. Please remember to book sessions directly with Becky in advance.

I will send out our Annual Overview of key dates in September, but I can already confirm our Meet the Teacher evening will take place on Tuesday 8th September:

• Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 @ 4.00pm
• Years 3 - 6 @ 4.30pm
