    Head's Up!

    1 April 2022 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

We have all had such a busy and exciting week at school and are just about ready for the Easter holidays and rest!

It was a pleasure to welcome parents and carers back to school for parents evenings this week and we hope you enjoyed this too. Year 2 will have their parents evenings on 26th & 27th April and information has already been sent to parents.

On Tuesday, the weather was glorious for Christian Values Day - Ethos group and Miss Copestick planned such an incredible experience as children travelled along a prayer labyrinth with a crème egg waiting for them at the end. Staff had planned exciting activities in support of CVD and Rev Arch began the day with a Communion Worship – what a beautiful end to the spring term!

ASM are running Easter Holiday Club Monday to Thursday next week and we hope your children enjoy these days and the weather is kind for them all. Some staff will also be in during the holidays as we prepare areas and rooms to support the wellbeing afternoons we are launching after Easter. HUGE thanks to them in advance!

On Monday Year 5 took part in a Medieval Workshop as part of the support Congleton Town Council are offering schools and had a super time. I received the following message after their workshop:

Please pass to your lovely Year 5 teacher! Thank you so much for allowing me to invade your school yesterday and spend some time with your wonderful class - they really were one of the best groups I've worked with across the schools on this project and a credit to you and all at Marton. I hope to see you back in 1272 in July and wish you all the best for the Easter break.

    How wonderful!!

Our Year 4 and 5 children have been to Foxhill today with Rev Arch and School Governors and had a wonderful day. Today our School Council came and chatted at Parents Surgery and they were fantastic; wherever I go or whatever meeting I attend, I receive the same responses about our Marton children and remain so very proud of our children and our school family.

Our after school clubs will begin week beginning 25th April and information will be sent to you after the holidays. For some clubs there will be a small donation needed to cover the cost of materials. There is a limit of some numbers for clubs so please complete the booking asap.

Please don’t forget we are back to school on Tuesday 19th April

    Happy Easter, Nevin Deakin
