    Supporting Ukraine Refugees in Marton

    Ukraine Support

    Hi Marton Residents!

A few of us have got together who want to help / host Ukrainian refugees. We have created a community WhatsApp group (Marton Ukrainian Hosts) and have registered as a community group with charities who are helping match refugees to sponsors. We believe that a community group can provide better support to hosted families and also gives a way that those who can’t host can also get involved should they want to - even if it’s suggestions, helping meet specific requests (such as clothes) or even providing an occasional lift to the shops.

So we’d like those of you who are interested to get in touch with us, join our group if you’d like to and indicate what support you’d like to provide. There is no pressure to host at all or even respond – it’s a personal and practical choice but we know that there is an appetite to help.

    Our contact details are:

    Address: Greenacre, School Lane

Please indicate if you’re interested in:

    • hosting Ukrainian refugees
    • providing some other form of support
    • being kept informed of what we’re doing

When we hear from you, we will add anyone who wants to be involved to our WhatsApp group, and set up a way (perhaps a shared document online) for people to let us know what support they can offer. Alternatively, just let one of us know what kind of help you can offer.

We’re created a page on the village website for the latest updates on this – see https://martonvillage.co.uk/ukraine/

    Thank you

    Paul Nixon and Alex Davis
