    Head's Up!

    4 March 2022 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

What a brilliant start to the new half term!

It has been such a long time since we have been able to celebrate so many school events so this week felt extra special.

Thursday was just a magical day as everyone engaged in World Book day activities, demonstrating our love of Reading. We began the day with Miss Bryon’s fantastic assembly with a chance to see everyone’s brilliant costumes and listened to a beautiful poem Miss Byron had written herself performed by Year 5! It was incredible and we all felt so very proud!

As a staff we all dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz and we even had our own yellow brick road! This was such a joy and we all hope our costumes showed children just how much we love reading and being part of Team Marton too! Thank you to parents and carers for supporting your children. We hope you all enjoy spending your WBD voucher!

We will be sending information next week about F2F Parents Evenings which will take place on 28th & 30th March. This year parents will be able to book an appointment time online and we hope this will be a seamless process. We are excited to be welcoming parents into school once again and look forward to our discussions about your children.

Friends and Family met this week and have a calendar of exciting events taking place for the rest of this school year, with many dates for the next academic year too! Their next meeting takes place on Tuesday 19th April @ 8.15pm via Zoom. Do join us!

Please can I once again remind you about considerate parking along School Lane as this remains a concern.

We conducted Parents Surgery today with two school governors in attendance and it was lovely to conduct this face to face. Our next surgery will be Friday 1st April from 9.10am.

I have kept this quote on my desk for some time: ‘A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others’ From The Wizard of Oz and I wanted to share this with you all.

With best wishes for the weekend, Nevin Deakin/The Tin Man
