    Head's Up!

    26 November 2021 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

This week I have begun to hear the faint sounds of Christmas songs and they have made me smile! It feels like a long time since we have all enjoyed the many exciting activities we look forward to each Christmas. The children learning to play piano with Miss Waller have been a great entertainment this week and made us feel very festive.

On Wednesday, we were all delighted to welcome Open the Book back to school and as always, every child was engaged and sat transfixed. It never ceases to amaze us all how much children love listening to bible stories. Huge thanks to the OTB Team for coming back to school!

Many thanks for your kind and creative ‘Jolly Jar’ donations for our raffle. The jars were amazing and so original - HUGE thanks! Yellow House team collected the most and therefore earned extra house team points. Well done! Next week’s (final) collection is Chocolate. Please don’t forget to return raffle tickets to school ASAP,  there are many wonderful raffle prizes on offer this year – a testament to everyone’s kindness and hard work.

From next Wednesday the post box will be out at the front of school for children to post Christmas cards to one another. Collections will take place on Mondays and Thursdays so cards can be quarantined before delivery takes place. Please don’t forget to write each Child’s name and year group on the front of the envelope, e.g. Billy year 2.

Many thanks for sending slippers and indoor shoes into school, this has really helped as it's muddy outside. As we have to keep school well ventilated; children are welcome to wear extra sweaters/hoodies over their uniform if they are feeling cold.

It is the first Sunday of Advent this week; wishing you and your families good blessings for the weekend and Advent season, Nevin
