    Head's Up!

    15 October 2021 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

Thank you all for your generous Harvest gifts sent in to support local families this week. Your gifts were donated to the Storehouse at New Life Church and all were gratefully received. Each class performed a special part of our Harvest Festival and Rev Arch led Worship for us all. We are so sorry we have not been able to welcome parents to school to share with you all such wonderful events.

As you will know Covid rates are increasing and we are following CEC/Public Health advice that where one individual in a household tests positive, children and young people from that household who attend schools or college should:

    • Limit their social contacts.
    • Arrange for a PCR test and they should not attend school or college for a minimum of 5 days.

On Sunday our Ethos Group with Miss Copestick will be participating in Worship at Marton Church @ 11am. The theme is ‘No Outsiders’ and we hope you are all able to join us!

Last year we had a whole school trip to Chester Zoo and we all loved being together as a Team. This year, I’m really mindful that lots of families are feeling concerned about finances and mental health so we are planning something a little different and having a ‘Marvellous Marton’ outdoor day on Friday 5th November instead! We are hoping to use our skills and enjoy being outside; living our school values.

We’d like children to arrive at school in warm clothes, wellies or boots (hats, scarves and gloves too) to take part in a carousel of activities all day and celebrate the beauty of Marton/School. Members of staff, school governors, ASM and friends of school will have activities planned for children to really enjoy ‘what being at Marton’ is really like and we hope to take many photos of this day to share with you all via our website.

We will be eating outside so lunch needs to be sent in disposable bags unless you order a school packed lunch via ParentPay. Infants and children in receipt of free school meals will have their lunch provided unless you advise us otherwise. We are also hoping to have an ‘end’ gathering maybe with hot chocolate and sausages (it’s Bonfire Night) too.

With best wishes for the weekend, Nevin
