Happy holidays and Information for September for Parents/Carers

    17 July 2020 (by headmarton)

    A message from Mrs Deakin

We know you are all ready for the summer holidays and we wish you all a super rest!

Now that we have received confirmation that all children will return to school in September, we thought you would appreciate some finer details so you can share these with your children during the summer holidays:

    • All families are welcome to join us on the INSET day – Tuesday 1st September from 1pm and bring a picnic, rugs and chairs and meet on the school field (let’s hope for good weather!) ASM, our new sports providers will be here to play family games and we have arranged an ice cream van visit too!

    • All children will return on Wednesday 2nd September for full days apart from our new Reception children who will go home after they have eaten lunch for the first week only.

    • To support parents and social distancing, registers will remain open until 9.15am and children may also be collected from 3.15pm. PLEASE do not park in the school grounds unless you have a disability permit or have arranged this with school. Our school buses will be on site and their parking and movement is extremely important.

    • Please do not enter school. Messages to school or phone calls can be made via email to the school office.

    • Each classroom will be set up in rows with front facing desks.

    • Children in each class will remain in their ‘bubble’ and eat lunches within the classroom, supervised by Mid-Day Assistants, PE coaches will continue to work with 1 bubble/class at a time. ASM will be in school every Thursday and Friday.

    • School meals (at least until half term) will be packed lunches with some hot options like sausage rolls but snacks will not be available. Packed lunches from home need to be in disposable bags and not lunch boxes.

    • Hand washing and cleanliness will be encouraged constantly. Uniform is to be worn but this must be regularly changed and clean each day.

    • All social gatherings; Assemblies, Collective Worship will not take place as a whole school but staff will deliver these in classrooms.

    • Other special events, like Christmas performances will be filmed and available for parents and this will be revised each half term.

    • If a child develops Covid-19 symptoms we will contact parents immediately and self-isolate them until a parent arrives. We will also inform all parents.

    • If a child/family are Covid-19 tested, a copy of the results are needed so that school can continue to function safely. These would be anonymous and confidentiality would be adhered to at all times.

    • Each class or ‘bubble’ will have 1 unisex toilet in which to use. These will be clearly marked in September.

    • Marton Wrap Around Care (MAD House) will be located in the school hall (before and after school) as a small bubble. Contact jforster@marton.cheshire.sch.uk for further details.

    • Children’s school books will be sent home in September, unless children have been in school.

We are sure you will all appreciate this information is relevant today (17th July) but may change if new information becomes available. If we receive any new information, we will share this with you as soon as possible. The Overview for the school year will be sent out in September.

Please note we have extensive boiler work happening over the holidays and therefore our aim is that this will be completed and school will open as normal on Wednesday 2nd September.

We would like to extend our thanks to you all for the support and enthusiasm you have shown during such challenging times. We are all eager to return to ‘normal’ and welcome all children back to school.

We would also like to thank our Year 6 families for all their contributions to life at Marton. Year 6 enjoy all the new challenges ahead of you, try your very best every day and don’t ever forget that you will always be a part of our Marton Family. You have given us many memories and we will all miss you.

With my very best wishes for the summer holidays, Nevin
