    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

This week we all felt incredibly proud of our whole school community as we celebrated our Harvest Festival on Wednesday. Each class performed beautifully and thoughtfully and once again we were overwhelmed by the generosity and care you had shown as families in presenting the gifts you had made. Geoff from New Life Church gratefully accepted your gifts on behalf of the Store House. Mrs GB and Maddie and Isla’s Grandma transported all the harvest gifts after the festival to New Life Church; how kind of them to do so. Miss Copestick (as our RE and Collective Worship coordinator) was delighted that so many of you were able to record your thoughts onto little acorns about our Harvest Festival and she will collate these as evidence for her coordinator file. Thank you so much!

Many thanks for your generous bottle donations today for F & F bottle Bingo next week. Well done to Red Team for colecting the most bottles/house points today. Special thanks too, to Mr Francis for his very kind donation to school this week; so very thoughtful!

Well done to all our sporting stars this week in all your sporting events, not only do you represent school but your behaviour and attitude represents so much more! Thank you all.

Next week we will be delighted to support the British Legion Poppy Appeal; children will be able to purchase poppies every break time before and after half term.

I would like to thank you for the patience and understanding you have shown this week whilst Mrs Bedford has not been in school. Sandra has been touched by your kind thoughts and words. Mrs GB has done a tremendous job of holding the fort (or office) in Sandra’s absence – we’d have been lost without her!

It was wonderful to welcome so many parents to this month’s parent surgery today. Our Year 5 & 6 children from Ethos Group (led by Miss Copestick) presented their thoughts about a new school vision and school motto and they conducted themselves so well. To have parental involvement is so important when developing a new school vision and we will use this information to formalise what ‘being at Marton’ means to us all. We hope to launch all of this on our Christian Values Day.

This week the staff and I have had many discussions regarding the relationships we have at school. We are proud of these relationships and how you trust us to look after your children. This is something that we are all committed to; wanting the very best for the children in our care. When you trust us – you further strengthen that relationship and this benefits your children greatly. We conduct ourselves in a professional manner and thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s life.

    Have a super weekend!
