    Staffing news for September

    7 June 2019 (by headmarton)

    A message from Mrs Deakin

I am delighted to be confirming the staffing with you all from September and wanted to share this with you all as soon as possible. I feel incredibly privileged to work alongside such dedicated teachers, who share the same vision for the whole school; who care about your children and their future.

    Staffing:

    • Mrs Owen will have responsibility for our Early Years Children

    • Miss Copestick will have responsibility for Year 1 children

    • Mrs Field (our Deputy Headteacher) will have responsibility for Year 2 children.

    • Mrs Sparey will have responsibility for Year 3 children.

    • Mr Marks will have responsibility for Year 4 children.

    • Miss Byron will have responsibility for Year 5 children.

    • Mrs Wilson will have responsibility for Year 6 children.

All members of staff have curriculum responsibilities and it is our hope that all members of staff ‘get to know’ all children throughout the year. A recent example of this has been via ‘The Daily Reading’ we have been doing with Early Years Children and all thoroughly enjoyed. ‘The Daily Read’ will be further implemented in September across the whole school and we will share details of this with you in our Yearly Overview. Mr Marks will once again lead ‘Outdoor Afternoon’ on a Friday and we hope to involve KS2 into this timetable from September too, as this is another inclusive initiative that we know will benefit your children.

Our teaching assistants will continue to be deployed effectively to support our pupils and to support any children with additional needs. For pupils who do have 1:1 support, parents are always consulted about support for their children. We continue to review and discuss teaching assistant support with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Management Governors each half term.

Kickstart (Dean and staff) will continue to be employed by the school to support our PE provision and PPA times and will be in school on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the next academic year.

All children will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher/classroom on Move up Morning which will take place on Friday 28th June. Children will arrive as normal in the morning and we will all gather in the hall for a brief assembly before their ‘new’ teacher will take them to their new classroom to enjoy the morning’s activities.

    With best wishes

    Nevin J Deakin
