Thank-you to the reception parents who have being reading with their child at home. It really does pay off on your child's progress.
Today reception have been reading with year 5 pupils and every one involved have loved the experience. It was lovely watching them all walking back from the key stage 2 building with book bags and smiles.
With this big focus on reading in the early years foundation stage, I would like to invite nursery and reception parents to join me for a reading meeting. This will take place on Thursday 6th June at 9am and will only last 20 minutes. I will be giving you all some 'tricks of the trade' on how to get the best from your child's reading. This will include how to support them in using their phonics skills and what to do if they do not know a word.
Hopefully see you all there and please keep up the reading at home.
