    Head's Up!

    19 November 2021 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

We had such a wonderful Christian Values Day on Tuesday and began the day with Outdoor Worship with Rev Arch following the ‘footsteps of faith’ around the school grounds and taking part in an activity at each way marker. The staff had planned a very interactive day and we all felt incredibly proud of everyone. Many thanks to Paul (our site maintenance officer) for erecting the posts last weekend for us and for Miss Copestick for steering this amazing project. The way markers will now provide children with a focus on which to sit and reflect during playtimes and during outdoor learning opportunities.

Rev Arch also presented school with new bibles on CVD and we send our thanks to him for his support.

On the theme of thanks – special shout out to the Johnston family for their kindness and generosity; they really do ‘make Christmas at Marton’ and we are all so grateful!

It was wonderful to see Children dressed in their own clothes today as ‘payment’ for a bottle donation for F&F Christmas Raffle, thank you all so much! Yellow House Team won the extra team points this week. Next week’s Friday Mountain collection is: Jolly Jars. These are my personal favourites as I love seeing all the creative ideas you collect in jars.

Today we held a special Celebration assembly to say thank you and good luck to Mrs Potts as she starts work at Footprints on Monday; we presented her with gifts of thanks and look forward to waving to her across the infant playground!

Play leaders have chosen many children this week: Elsie & Noel from Reception, Harry, Bruno & Teddy from Year 1 and Orla, Harry, Harrison, Lyra and Parker from Year 2 for Hot Chocolate afternoon which will take place on Monday, well done children!

    Have a wonderful weekend, Nevin
