FAO Year 1 families
17 September 2020 (by S Copestick (Year1))
Hi Year one families! Keeping the lines of communication open, here are a few bits and bobs that you will find helpful. Please see the information below.
Tomorrow is Jeans for Genes day - children can wear jeans with their uniform on top.
If your child is in Rising Stars club tomorrow after school, they should bring a sports kit to change in to.
If you haven't seen the 'Meet the Teacher' power-point, please take a look - it's on the school website on the year 1 page.
Please write when your child reads at home in their reading diary. I will look in these to see if books need changing weekly. You've probably noticed that there is a page per week - this makes it easier for me to reward children that are reading each evening at home. If you read on a Saturday or Sunday - just write it some where else on the page or stick in a post it note. The class don't have reading days just yet but you will be informed when your child does have one.
Tonight your child also has the first reading and spelling ladder in their home learning book (in book bag). Your child should practice spelling and reading them independently. They will receive new ladders throughout the year and not every week. Not all children will have the same words all the time.
Zoom parent meetings are being arranged for Monday - please send in your reply forms tomorrow if you haven't already. Please ask your child to hand it in to me in the morning. I will also ask them too.
There is a 'live reading' homework on Seesaw this week if you have not seen it. Please take a look.
