    ..for all families

We have welcomed our reception children back this week into their ‘bubbles’ and thank them and their families for respecting the social distancing measures we have now established at school.

Next week we will welcome Year 1 children back to school and Miss Copestick has already begun adding messages onto the school jotter app and Seesaw for families.

We continue to welcome our Key Worker Children to support the families that need this help. I would like to confirm that this key worker ‘bubble’ is a separate group and we are now at a maximum number of pupils.

I am being asked if children from other year groups can join this bubble as ‘children are missing their friends’, ‘need school structure’ or ‘that their siblings are returning to school and they don’t want to miss out’ and this makes me very sad. We cannot support all children wanting to come back to school and would hope that this is only essential key workers who are requesting support. We have been supporting these families since lockdown began but cannot accommodate more pupils simply because they are missing out.

I can totally understand as a parent that children need structure, miss their friends and the routine of school life but we do not have the staff, space or resources to accommodate all our children back and follow recommended guidelines; this is why the Government have introduced a phased return.

As parents you have done a simply wonderful job of supporting your children at home. The staff have been incredible with the work they are managing; coming into school to support key worker/phased return pupils and still planning for online learning and will continue to support families as much as we can.

We thank you for your understanding and support in what is challenging times for all families.

    Best wishes
