    for Parents and Carers

Following the DFE advice regarding schools preparing to open from 1st June I thought you would appreciate some further information.

We have been advised that children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 along with children of Key Workers and Vulnerable children will be able to return to school if parents wish after the Whit holidays. Please note this is for child care provision only. We will still be supplying online learning to our children.

The long term ambition is that all children in Primary Schools will return before the end of the summer term but as yet this information has not been confirmed. Parents will not be fined for non attendance.

The advice we are following is to encourage safe social distancing as much as possible, staggering key times in the school day and to keep groups of children to a maximum of 15 with a member of staff.

Whilst I can understand the DFE’s advice about staggered school days, I know for many families that use school transport this will not be possible. We will therefore be extending flexible start times for our families from 9 - 9.30am. Any parents who are needing wrap around care should contact Kickstart direct.

In order to ensure we can support this care provision I need an indication from parents who may require their children to return on/after 1st June. We need this information by Friday 15th May at the latest. Please can you email admin@marton.cheshire.sch.uk. This will enable us to prepare risk assessments and action plans straight away.

Many thanks for your support and understanding in this matter,

    Best wishes

    Nevin Deakin and Sue Furness
