  1. Curriculum & Classes
  2. Geography

Geography should inspire a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Pupils should be equipped with the knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.

At Marton, we have designed our curriculum to give our children a range of opportunities to ask questions about their environment and the skills to develop and build their geographical understanding.

Geography in our school reflects our Christian ethos; we believe that by teaching our children to investigate the world through our Christian vision of ‘Sow, Nurture, Grow’, that they are able to ask questions and to explore the world that we live in.

Children experience engaging and practical activities in Geography that allow them to become active members of the school, local, national and global community.

We sow the skills of geographical enquiry, observation, analysis and communication to enable them to be fascinated about this place we call earth.  We nurture their curiosity and encourage them to ask questions while building up their knowledge and understanding of place, people, processes, environments, and the earth’s resources.

We support our children as they grow to be responsible, compassionate, empathetic citizens of our local and global communities sharing our values of Agape, Communion and Justice as they continue their journey.

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
