Our Christian vision of ‘Sow, Nurture, Grow’ ensures that all our pupils experience engaging activities in Art and Design that contribute to pupils becoming active learners and engage their imagination, creativity and expression.
We sow by teaching Art and Design skills discretely and thematically throughout our Curriculum themes, ensuring all children access all areas of the Art and Design curriculum as well as exposing them to art in other subjects.
Art is a creative expression that nurtures imagination and through painting, sculpture, collage, clay, drawing or any other medium, art is a way for children to work through emotions, make decisions, and express their ideas. We nurture by giving children confidence in their work by providing continual support and encouragement.
We grow by promoting honesty, responsibility, kindness and compassion to allow the children to use creation and express themselves.
