    End of Year Head's Up!

    20 July 2023 (by headmarton)

    From Mrs Deakin

    We’ve made it!

So much to share and so much to celebrate.

This has been such a successful and productive school year; one in which we welcomed Ofsted into school, employed new staff, won Town Sports and shared in your children’s learning and adventures and all along you have trusted us to do so. Thank you.

I always feel nostalgic at the end of the year as we say goodbye and good luck to school families that we have had the pleasure of knowing for many years. We wish all the children leaving us today much love, luck and success for the future. Keep your Marton family in your hearts and in your deeds, and remember our values of Sow, Nurture, Grow as they are pretty perfect for all situations you will find yourself in.

We extend our love and thanks to Rev Arch as he leaves Marton in August. Ian has been a parent, a neighbour, a governor, our Vicar and our school friend for 12 years and we will all miss him. We hope he will think of his Marton Family and remember the support he has given us all. We wish him and his family much love and luck for the future.

I’d like to recognise the staff that I feel blessed to call friends in my Head’s Up this week. At every suggestion I make (the community pantry, birthday club, outdoor days, whole school trips, camp outs, moving classrooms/year groups, knocking down walls, suggesting new displays, Daily Writes and Daily Reads) they are all so positive and together we make things happen. We do so wanting the very best for the children in our care. Working in schools isn’t a job; it’s a vocation and I can’t tell you just how many hours, emails, meetings and conversations we have that extend the school day. Every morning there is great laughter as we all arrive and we all still sit together daily to eat lunch; something that I always feel emotional about! I hope they will all enjoy the holidays and rest even though we’ll all be in over summer prepping for September!

    Don’t forget:

All Children are back to school on Tuesday 5th September

    ‘Meet the Teacher’ takes place on Tuesday 12th September KS1 @ 4pm and KS2 @ 4.30pm.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and wonderful summer holidays.

See you all in September, Nevin
