    10 March 2023 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

This week we have had much to celebrate as our Year 3 & 4 Boys Football team were joint winners in the Football tournament at CHS. The whole team were fantastic and so thrilled to have won, today we made a HUGE fuss of them at Celebration Assembly, thank you to all parents for attending and being brilliant! Special shout out to Richard Johnston and Mrs Woodmass too.

On Wednesday, my year 6 Book Club tweeted Kieran Larwood, the author we have been reading and he has sent several Tweets back in reply. This caused much excitement and we were thrilled that this award winning author found the time to tweet us. If you haven’t seen these posts; do check them out! They’re super!

Friends and Family had originally planned to host an Easter Bingo this term but have revised this and will send out their meeting minutes ASAP.

Our online booking system is now live to book your appointments for Parents Evening. These take place on Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th March. Although parents ‘evening’ starts after lunch, school will be open as normal although children can be collected early after your appointment. Please let us know any changes to home time if you can.

Red nose day 2023: The School council will be running a 'funfest' to raise money for red nose day on Friday 17th March and will send you all further info, they will also be selling red noses from 3.15pm Monday to Thursday next week at the school office. These are priced at £2.50 each and we do have limited stock. Red noses are being advertised online as not suitable for children under 7 years of age due to small parts – choking hazard but this is at parents discretion.

It's likely to be a cold weekend, so wrap up warm and take care, Nevin
