Weekly message and Happy Summer from Mrs Deakin
We made it!!! We aren’t sure how and actually all feel this year has flown by!
It has been an absolute pleasure to have a ‘normal’ school year with our annual activities and be together as a School Family.
The end of the year is always tinged with a little sadness as we say goodbye to our Year 6 children and their Families. Yesterday was their special Leavers Assembly and again this was beautiful but so emotional. It always makes me cry when I see their pictures throughout the years; standing in brand new uniforms at their front doors, their little faces and shiny shoes on their first days at school and then listening to their aspirations for their future careers. We wish them love and luck for the future and know they will continue to make us proud. Their parents planned a fantastic leavers party last Friday which was a testament to the support they’ve shown for their children and school, our thanks to EVERYONE for organising such a special event!
Today the ice cream van visited school as a gift from F & F, the rain did not deter children from enjoying this end of year treat. Thank you F & F!
We return to school on Tuesday 6th September as school is closed on Monday 5th for Staff training. Please don’t forget ASM holiday club will be open Monday to Thursday during August and you can book this via www.asmsports.co.uk
I will write to you all at the end of the holidays but a date for your diaries will be Meet the Teacher on Monday 12th September, Key stage 1 classes @ 4pm and Key stage 2 classes @ 4.30pm. Please do not worry if you can’t make this or have children in different classes as staff will prepare a PowerPoint with all key information and this will be loaded onto class pages after 12th Sept.
For now though please let me say THANK YOU.
For … your support, kindness, beautiful gifts and cards but most of all for trusting us. We have received so many beautiful cards and emails and each one was so emotional and so heartfelt. We have also received a very generous donation towards musical instruments and a tree for our Prayer Garden, both these gifts reflect the legacy of what it means to be a part of our Marton family.
