    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

Thank you to all parents and carers who have supported our Reception children selling badges. It has been a delight to witness their involvement and engagement with the whole school community. They have raised £105 so far. Thank you! They will also be selling badges again next week, huge thanks to Mr Shaw for being so awesome!

There has been much excitement via our school council as they, together with Mrs Owen have planned a very special jubilee event on Wednesday 8th June. Children are welcome to come to school in red, white and blue clothing, with all parents/carers welcome from 2pm for a tea party. We all think cake at parties is pretty essential so donations of cakes would be kindly received and can be brought into school the day before. Once parents and families have eaten cake and observed some of the children’s work, you will be able to leave early if you wish although school will remain open till 3.30pm (normal school time).

It’s always a pleasure to hear about childrens’ lives outside school and last weekend Finley in Year 3 entered his very first contemporary dance competition in Liverpool and was placed 4th in teams, 5th in Set Solo final and made call-backs for the improv final and has now been invited to compete at Winter Gardens in Blackpool in June. Well done Finley!

Last year our children created sunflowers to support East Cheshire Hospice’s Art Fair and we made sunflowers from each class. These will now be displayed at Macclesfield Town Hall From Thursday 26th May to Sunday 5th June, please do pop along to see our children’s work if you can.

Last Sunday Mrs Field, Miss Copestick and I witnessed Henry and Alice make their Communion at Marton Church. They were supported by their families and we all felt so proud to see them. With God’s blessing to you both.

School finishes next Friday for half term. Please note After School Clubs start again week beginning 13th June although ASM clubs will be resume on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th June.

Wishing you all a super weekend, with good weather, Nevin
