    Head's Up!

    13 May 2022 (by headmarton)

    Weekly news from Mrs Deakin

Our Year 6 children have completed their SATS this week and we have all been so proud of them. Staff had created a welcoming environment and delicious breakfasts to ensure children were all calm and composed and they were a credit to themselves and their families. This afternoon they have had a special treat with Miss Clarke and it’s been well deserved!

Reception Outdoor Day on Tuesday was a great success and it was a pleasure to see the children all dressed and outside in our beautiful grounds. Again huge thanks to the staff for creating such a wonderful learning environment.

We were delighted to hear about the Rugby stars across KS2 this week, please contact Hayley Royall via school if you would like your child to get involved in future events. We all love our sport at Marton!

At the start of the week, the Gregory family showed such kindness to one of our new children and we were touched by this thoughtfulness. What a welcome to Marton!

Reception class fundraiser starts next week…EYFS staff used their £100 class money from Friends and Family to purchase a badge machine as they have a creative way of raising funds to purchase resources for Reception class. They will be selling their badges next week at playtime (50p each) Please do support our little children!

As you will know, we pride ourselves on the good relationships we build with families; we respond to every email, check attendance thoroughly and really care for your children and their well-being but I would respectfully like to remind you about communication. It is our duty to keep your children safe and we pride ourselves on this. If parents email me direct, I will always respond and feel proud to offer support to you all. At times though, I may not have access to emails that require an immediate response and therefore information regarding collections times, after school clubs or children’s uniform are always best sent to admin. I continue to support a number of Headteachers across the authority and still conduct school to school support so don’t want vital information to be missed.

Please don’t forget to join our Sleep Parent Surgery on Friday 1st July. We have been contacted by several parents regarding this as we know sleep is such a concern for many. If you would like other family members or friends joining us on this occasion, they are most welcome and we would be happy for them to attend.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and a great result for the FA Cup Final tomorrow!
